the cause behind Atrial fibrillation and how to prevent it

Atrial fibrillation (A-fib) is an irregular and often very rapid heart rhythm (arrhythmia) that can lead to blood clots in the heart. A-fib increases the risk of stroke, heart failure and other heart related complications.

During atrial fibrillation, the heart’s upper chambers (the atria) beat chaotically and irregularly ,out of sync with the lower chambers (the ventricles) of the heart. For many people, A-fib may have no symptoms. However, A-fib may cause a fast, pounding heartbeat (palpitations), shortness of breath or weakness.

During my research, some researchers revealed that a structural issue with the heart is the most frequent cause of atrial fibrillation.

Additional potential causes include coronary artery disease, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, congenital heart defects, heart valve issues, lung disease, physical stress from surgery, and thyroid conditions including (hyperthyroidism).

As a nurse, I’ve always known the best approach to prevent A-fib is to maintain a healthy lifestyle, which is always the best choice. Maintaining a healthy diet low in salt, saturated fats, trans fats, and cholesterol is another way to prevent A-fib. You should also control blood pressure elevation, engage in regular exercise, and maintain a healthy body weight.

In your opinion what is the cause behind A-fib and how to prevent it?

  4. In addition to the physical causes you mentioned, psychological causes also have a huge impact on the A-fib patient, such as living in a stressful environment. This will certainly worsen their condition.
For prevention or at least to reduce the risk of A-fib, nurses must educate their patients and increase their awareness of how to enjoy life and think positively, as well as follow a healthy lifestyle.

That’s a great piece of work, thank you Amal, keep it up.

In my opinion to avoid the A-fib filtration avoid the anger and stress in your life, keep calm and happy then your body will control every single issue normally.
